Executive Member for Adult Social Services and Community Wellbeing, Cllr Alex Williams said: “The Council is committed to supporting and advising those who, for whatever reason, find themselves suffering from a drug or alcohol dependency.
By commissioning tailored, specialised services, we are able to ensure people receive the support they need at the time they need it. We also recognise that it is not only the person with the addiction that suffers, but their family and friends who often suffer the brunt of the problems associated with a dependency so work hard to ensure they know they can also get support.
To take the first steps towards recovery takes great courage and I would like to personally congratulate everyone who is currently on their personal recovery journey and encourage anyone currently suffering, to reach out for help. There is support out there, with professional people who will not judge, but are there to help.”
Trafford’s recovery events throughout September include:

This second recovery event will involve handing out packs of basic items such as toothpaste, toothbrush, general information, a sandwich and a few sweets to homeless people. During the day there will also be opportunities for homeless people to pop along to just outside Stretford Mall from 2pm to help themselves from a rail of donated clothes.
