A family of three have ticked off all of the boxes on their dream home checklist having recently made the move to Barratt Homes’ development in Barrow.
Susan (59) and Andy Bradley (55), a Retiree and a Warehouse Operative respectively, alongside their son, Luke (26), made the move from Blackburn to The Brooks, after Susan had an eye on moving back to her hometown.
Alongside a return to Susan’s roots, the family had sought a quieter, safer area to live in, as well as wishing to downsize to a more manageable house and reside closer to their daughter.
The family had considered second-hand properties when looking to move home, but a number of factors swayed their decision towards a new homes development.
Susan said: “There are a number of reasons that we moved to this development. We did not want to deal with problems you typically find in older builds, we like that the development is not too crowded and our daughter gave a great endorsement of new build homes having bought one herself.
“We heard many good things about Barratt Homes and we were very happy with the affordability of the properties, too. We love all of it and only wish we could have moved years ago.”
The couple were able to afford their house through existing savings and equity from their previous property. They opted to purchase a two bedroom Brookvale style home, an ideal property for those looking for functionality as well as comfort.
Susan and Andy could not speak more highly of their buying experience and their interactions with the site team, particularly Angela Atkinson, a Sales Adviser at The Brooks.
Andy said: “From the minute we walked into the sales centre, Angela was nothing but helpful and really made the whole experience easier. She went above and beyond to ensure everything about our move and purchase ran smoothly and that we were informed. It really does feel like we’ve made a good friend!”
The family also had the chance to meet some of their neighbours before moving in. Andy continued: “We have had really good first impressions with everyone we have met. We’ve really hit it off and there’s a vast range of ages in the community.
“The local area is incredibly convenient. The bus stop is directly outside and will take us to everywhere we need to go. Places like Clitheroe, Whalley and Blackburn are so accessible that we won’t be wanting for anything.”
The Whalley Road development is located in the quaint village of Barrow, located in the gorgeous Ribble Valley area of Lancashire. These in-demand homes will incorporate plenty of open space around the development whilst offering superb transport links to major areas around the county, such as Blackburn, Preston and Manchester.
Residents can enjoy a slower pace of life at The Brooks with fantastic countryside surrounding the development, ideal for those with pets or those who enjoy a breath of fresh air after a day at work.
Philippa Stewart, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North West, said: “At Barratt Homes we pride ourselves on providing the best services and properties for our customers. It’s always great to hear about those who have really benefited from our support.
“We are delighted that we have been able to provide Susan and Andy the safety and security they were looking for and encourage others looking to move home to speak to our team at The Brooks.”
