From 6pm, Saturday 3rd December to 12 noon, Sunday 4th December sections of St Mary’s Way and Newbridge Lane will be closed as the improvement works along St Mary’s Way continue.
- Stockport Council
During this time, the existing St Mary’s Way footbridge will be dismantled following the successful installation of the new foot/cycle bridge a few weeks ago, and works on the St Mary’s Way/ Newbridge Lane junction will be undertaken. Work on both projects has been co-ordinated in order to minimise disruption along St Mary’s Way.
The sections of the roads that will be closed are:
• St Mary’s Way (Mersey Street to Hall Street); and
• Newbridge Lane (Alpine Road to Stringer Street)
A signed diversion route will be in place throughout this time to ensure that access to properties on St Mary’s Way and Newbridge Lane is maintained. The signed diversion route will be via Carrington Road, Great Portwood Street, Great Egerton Street, Heaton Lane, the A6 and Hempshaw Lane.
We apologise in advance for any delays or inconvenience these works may cause.
