Shoppers in Burnley are being encouraged to “shop” for a healthy lifestyle this festive season at a new leisure store in the town centre.
Burnley Leisure has launched its store in Charter Walk to serve as a one-stop shop for information on all its services.
Members of staff are on hand to give residents advice on activities, latest membership promotions and answer questions on exercise and nutrition.
It also stocks Christmas gift vouchers for golf, gym membership and offers health MOT check-ups free of charge along with a selection of swimming goods.
A range of exciting activities are also taking place including whizzing up nutritious drinks on a smoothie bike and taking part in a range of competitions.
Scott Bryce, operations manager at Burnley Leisure, said the new health and well- being hub would help local people access the information they need to make a change to a healthier lifestyle.
“With rising obesity rates in the country there has never been a more pressing reason to adopt a healthy lifestyle,” he said.
“What better way to do this than to bring some fun as well as health and fitness advice to the heart of the local community and make it easy to try and improve your health or take up a new sport that’s right for you. Socially we can also offer lots of family entertainment with fantastic food within our Prairie Sports Village and Mechanics theatre.”
The shop is open weekdays 10am- 3.30pm and Saturdays 9.30am-2pm. In the run up to Christmas, the store is open late every Thursday until 8pm.
