If you like working with children and want a career that has the flexibility to fit work around your family’s needs then Childminding could be the career for you.
- Stockport Council
As a Childminder you can make a real difference to the lives of children helping them grow and develop. You will not only have fun, but also help the children you care for develop important skills they will build on in later life.
With the likely increase in demand for Childminders, due to the Government’s programme of providing 30 hours free childcare for three and four year old children of working parents from September 2017, it is important that new Childminders are supported to set up in business in Stockport.
The Local Authority is holding an information session for people thinking of becoming Registered Childminders on Tuesday 3rd January 2017 at 6.30pm in Fred Perry House. The session will cover the Ofsted regulations for Registered Childminders, the process for training and registration, costs involved and support available, along with a chance to ask questions. There will also be an opportunity to enrol on a 10 week evening course which will then enable participants to go forward to Ofsted registration.
Councillor Colin Foster Executive member for Children and Family Services commented that: “Working with children can be immensely rewarding, seeing them grow and develop. If you enjoy working with children and have a passion for it, I would definitely recommended looking into a career in Childminding.”
Places for the free session must be booked in advance – Tel 0161 218 1200. More information is available on the Stockport Council website www.stockport.gov.uk/
