Marie Curie is looking for enthusiastic individuals raring to engage with the local community in West Cumbria.

The charity are encouraging local people to join the West Cumbria Fundraising Group and make a difference, all while meeting new people in the area, having fun and helping to secure the on-going support delivered by Marie Curie.

As a Fundraising Group Member volunteers will become a key component in a passionate team, devoted to raising crucial funds and as much awareness as possible.

They will organise collections, fundraising events and other awareness activities and promote the work of the charity and encourage support for Marie Curie within their local community.

A meeting will be held on Tuesday November 29 at 6.30pm at the Allerdale Hotel, Main Street, Cockermouth where anyone interested can attend, meet their Community Fundraiser and find out more details.

Anyone living in West Cumbria with a terminal illness or looking for support can contact the Marie Curie Information and Support Line.

Helpline advisers are there to help every step of the way and can give trusted information on everything from day-to- day care, to sorting out money matters or coping with feelings. They are also there when people just need someone to talk to.
