Health & wellness ambassadors The Scissor Psychologist supported the Samaritans and raised much needed funds after organising a charity fundraising day on Sunday.
The acclaimed hairdressing salon’s charity event located in the beautiful village of Aldford, Cheshire featured hairstylist Mel Hill bravely shaving off all of her hair to help raise cash.
Mel said: “I decided to shave all my hair off to raise awareness for mental health, which is very close to my heart. I have shaved my head before when I was 14 during work experience in a salon and thought it would look awesome…i was rebellious at the time!
The Scissor Pyschologist welcomed clients and guests in support who experienced head massages in return for a donation, plus buy goody bags containing mini treats and spot prizes.
Mel added: “The Samaritans are there 24/7. No pressure, no judgment and you can just let it all out. You don’t have to face it alone and it’s really ok, not to be ok. I don’t think people are open about mental health and unfortunately it’s more common in men. They think they shouldn’t feel like they do.”
The Scissor Psychologist founder and owner Emma Mulvihill said: “It was a special Sunday. We want to thank all of those who have supported the cause so far, it means the world to us and every penny really does count.”
