Househunters in Buxton who are struggling to buy their own home have a last chance to get on the property ladder.
Affordable home ownership opportunities are available at College Hill Park, Harpur Hill, a development of new homes from Persimmon Homes.
When it launched the development, Persimmon teamed up with High Peak Borough Council’s Affordable Homes Scheme to offer a number of properties to local people at 80% of their market value.
Now just nine of the original 26 properties remain available through the scheme.
Dave Hodgson, Sales Director for Persimmon Homes North West, said: “There are a number of Government schemes that make homes affordable, but the High Peak Council scheme targets local people, giving them a helping hand to buy a home within their own community.
“It is a brilliant scheme and the feedback we have had is that it’s a quick, straightforward and hassle-free way to becoming a homeowner in your home town.”
The scheme invites people who are struggling to get on the property ladder to apply to buy their home at a discounted price of the full market value. To qualify, buyers must be aged between 23 and 40, and live, work or have a family connection within the Buxton area.
An example of the scheme in operation at College Hill Park is the three bedroom Moseley style home with a full asking price of £166,995 is available through the scheme at the affordable price of £133,596.
