Pupils at Hindley Junior and Infant School in Hindley recently received a donation of reflective vests from Barratt Homes to help them shine bright whilst on class trips away from the school.
The five star housebuilder gave the school reflective vests for its pupils to wear whilst walking alongside roads away from the school, ensuring they can be easily seen and can remain safe.
Although we are approaching lighter morning and evenings, Barratt Homes has made this donation to help encourage safe travel on foot when on class trips, such as when the year four class visits the swimming baths in Hindley.
Rhian Speakman, School Business Manager at Hindley Junior and Infant School, said: “We would like to thank Barratt Homes on behalf of the children and staff at Hindley Junior and Infant School. We are always extremely grateful to receive donations in school as this helps to relieve the pressure of rising costs and reduced budgets.
“The donation of the reflective vests will mean we can help to keep our children and staff safe when they are out of school on visits or trips which is of paramount importance to us.”
Hindley Junior and Infant School is located near the homebuilder’s Amberswood Rise development in Wigan and the donation of hi-vis vests is another part of Barratt Homes’ outreach to the local community.
In what’s been a challenging time for schools across the country as a result of the pandemic, the leading developer is as committed as ever to providing support all year round.
Neil Goodwin, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “We want to ensure the pupils in the local communities remain safe and visible when they are away from the schoolgrounds, and our donation can aid the school in all of their future trips.
“We actively support school pupils throughout the year as we endeavour to help their efforts to stay safe near to busy roads, and the vests have proven to be both effective and practical.”
