ArunManchester City Council has granted planning permission to housing and regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships, which markets its homes under the award winning Linden Homes banner, to redevelop a prime area of Gorton, Manchester.

The £9 million Grace Gardens development, which was approved by Manchester City Council’s planning officers, will see Galliford Try Partnerships deliver 62 high quality new homes across two sites. 48 of the planned houses will be located off Crossley Street, with a further 14 to be built off Belle Vue Street.

Situated next to the A57 with links to the M67 and the M60, the location is ideal for young professionals working in Manchester and surrounding areas. All of the two, three and four bedroom homes will be available for open market sale, with prices starting from £140,000.

With planning permission approved, Galliford Try Partnerships will start on site next month and the first new homes will be available to purchase in autumn 2016.

The 4.37 acre parcels bordering Gordan Park were formally owned by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). Galliford Try Partnerships signed an agreement for the sale with the HCA in February 2016.

Manchester Place (a collaboration between the HCA and Manchester City Council) obtained outline planning permission for the redevelopment in 2014, following the investment of £850,000 to prepare the sites for development including; undertaking site surveys and the removal of redundant and disused buildings from the sites.

Darren Leary, development director at Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “The continued regeneration of Gorton means it is becoming a highly desirable location live given its proximity to the city centre, excellent transport links and wider economic investment and we are delighted to be granted approval to start on site. The Grace Gardens scheme will be an instrumental part of the council’s wider regeneration aims for the area by widening the housing choice available.”
