Foresight Group (“foresight”), a leading independent infrastructure and private equity investment manager, has appointed Rob Jones as Investment Manager in the private equity team.
Rob is the fourth team member to be recruited for Foresight’s Manchester office and will focus on investing the Foresight Regional Fund (“FRIF”), which is a regional fund focused upon equity investments of up to £5 million in small and medium sized growth companies in the North West of England, North Wales and South Yorkshire.
Rob brings with him an extensive knowledge of private equity and mid-market corporates in the North West, joining Foresight from Ernst and Young where he advised on a broad range of transactions as an Assistant Director in the M&A team. Over a period of eight years he gained M&A expertise whilst successfully closing many deals across the region.
After graduating from Manchester Business School with a Masters of Business, Rob qualified as an ACA at Baker Tilly (formerly RSM Tenon), where he advised SMEs and entrepreneurial businesses on a range of transactions and fundraising.
Rob Jones, Investment Manager, Foresight commented: "I look forward to working with Foresight’s dynamic private equity team and to harness the network of professional contacts I’ve gained throughout the region. Foresight’s focus on developing SMEs aligns well with my broad transactional knowledge of mid-market businesses gained in previous roles, and it will be a pleasure to support Foresight’s deals in the North West.
James Livingston, Partner, Foresight added: Rob’s experience in transactions across the North West and across a broad range of sectors will be indispensable to the execution of successful deals from our Manchester office. Rob’s strong network across the region is also particularly valuable and is already driving a greater volume of investment opportunities.
We’re delighted to have him join our team.”
