A groundbreaking software development company fissara, has opened offices at The Millbrook Business Centre in Wythenshawe to accommodate its rapidly growing business.
The 10-strong team, which has developed a revolutionary field force management software platform, includes developers, programmers, customer relationship managers, sales consultants, admin and management functions. The team has also taken on two apprentices from Manchester College because of the move and is seeking a third apprentice to support the sales and marketing function.
fissara is the brain child of Jon Holttum and Nick Lawford who started the company in 2013 having worked together at Airwave Solutions developing software systems to support the emergency services.
The platform they have developed is an entirely adaptable, cloud-based, system which allows businesses to manage people, processes, stocks and schedules. It is designed to deliver greater operational efficiencies and reduce costs as well as to improve customer service and productivity.
Since its launch fissara has already won contracts with companies including Motorola, AMCO Engineering, O2 Telephónica and Scanlans Property Management and is gearing up for a rapid expansion into the civil engineering, utilities, telecoms and facilities management markets. In November, the team also won a Best Use of Technology special commendation for fissara at the Talk of Manchester awards.
Commenting on the success of the company and the reasons they chose Manchester as a base Jon explained: “We decided to plant our roots firmly in Manchester because it is the UK’s hub for digital technology development. We need access to great people who have the right skills and experience to help us achieve the rapid growth we anticipate as we roll out our product nationwide and we believe that those people are to be found right here in Manchester.

It has had a strong early uptake because it is entirely adaptable to the unique needs of each individual company.
