Project architects Alice Parker and Ian Mellor at Pozzoni Architecture have both been promoted to associates.

Both architects have been at the practice for just over two years, with Alice working predominately on education projects while Ian has worked with the senior living team on the design of care, extra-care and retirement living schemes.

Amongst other projects, Alice is currently leading on a project at Manchester Enterprise Academy and has played a lead role in Pozzoni’s designs for the high profile private hospital, Nuffield Health Manchester.

Commenting on her career so far at Pozzoni, Alice said: “There have been many challenges over the past two years and I’ve really enjoyed such a steep learning curve.

“From continuing my work on rewarding educational schemes, through to complex medical planning for Nuffield Health, I’ve been given fantastic opportunities to develop my knowledge and skills. In my new role, I intend to continue to learn about the business and support Pozzoni’s design ambitions for the future.”

As well as working on projects for English Care Villages, including Tattenhall Care Village which is due for completion in February, Ian plays an active role in Pozzoni’s Academy. Working alongside Academy lead, Emma Tanti, Ian supports students ranging from sixth form through to university level with the practice’s student programme.

“The academy is becoming stronger year on year and it’s great to be a part of nurturing the architectural talent of the future,” said Ian.

“Our team recognises the benefits of employing year out students and the fresh perspective they can bring to projects. It’s a part of my role I really enjoy and I hope to further develop the practice’s reputation for design and new ideas.”

Director at Pozzoni, Nigel Saunders, said: “It’s been an incredibly busy few months at Pozzoni and Alice and Ian’s promotions reflect a trajectory of growth for the practice.

“With recent new client wins and current major projects including Manchester’s new Nuffield Hospital, the Village 135 senior living community, the Manchester Enterprise Academy, along with a diverse range of major developments across the country it’s a really exciting time for us.

“We’re all really pleased to see Alice and Ian progress and I’d like to congratulate them both on their success.”

With over thirty years’ experience, Pozzoni has built up an impressive portfolio of public and private sector developments including commercial, education, healthcare, leisure, mixed-use, residential and senior living projects from its offices in Manchester and London.
