Youngsters from the Busy Bees reception class and Ladybird Nursery at Clutton C of E Primary School recently enjoyed their own journey to Cuddington, inspired by the book ‘The Journey Home’ by Frann Preston-Gannon. The children took a train from Chester station to Cuddington, with time at the playground and a picnic before heading for the journey home by train.
Teacher Mrs. Wendy Dorset commented: “At Clutton C of E Primary School our Ladybird Nursery for 3-4 year olds works alongside our Busy Bees reception class for 4-5 year olds, this is ideal for developing the children’s learning outcomes for the Early Years Foundation Stage. We’ve been using Frann Preston-Gannon’s book ‘The Journey Home’ to develop literacy skills, and decided to take the children on their own journey with our train adventure to Cuddington. We enjoyed fantastic weather for our picnic and even had the chance to develop physical skills at the park too!”
