A group of Chester lawyers, accountants and professionals are gearing up to get on their bikes and help reconnect the city’s business community after lockdown.
The team behind Networking on Two Wheels – a unique concept that combines cycling with business networking – is planning a series of new events as coronavirus restrictions continue to ease.
Currently led by Fraser Crewe, Director at BA Commercial, the group already has over 40 members and had clocked up over 1,000 miles of cycling prior to lockdown.
Now, the group is back with a new official cycling kit sponsored by member firms including Chester law firm Aaron and Partners – a longstanding supporter – and will be running regular monthly rides, on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
Steph King, a Real Estate Solicitor at Aaron and Partners, is part of the group and balances her legal career with competing in triathlons for Great Britain.
She said: “As a firm and in the city, we have lots of keen cyclists, so Networking on Two Wheels is an ideal way to keep active, as well as network with our colleagues and professionals from Chester, and right across to North Wales.
“Lockdown put paid to our rides for a while, but we’re delighted to be starting up again in line with the easing of restrictions. The past year has shown us how important it is to stay fit and active, for both physical and mental health, and we’re expecting a big turnout at our next ride.
Fraser added: “The group has now been active for six years in total, and I know our members are eager to make up for some lost mileage due to the pandemic.
“Anyone working in and around Chester is welcome to join us for a fun, friendly way to network and enjoy the many benefits cycling has to offer.”
Anyone wishing to get involved in the next Networking on Two Wheels ride can book their place by contacting Fraser directly or via the Networking on Two Wheels group on LinkedIn.
