Dave Perrin Seven Movement
Seven Movement, a gym that specialises in both adult and children’s classes, has launched in Stockport using a loan from Business Finance Solutions (BFS) http://www.businessfinancesolutions.org.uk, the North West delivery partner of the government’s national £310m Start Up Loans programme and a lending partner of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
Seven Movement, which is owned and run by Dave Perrin, is using the £10k loan from BFS to launch an exercise concept that is more personal and encourages better movement and nutritional habits. Seven Movement aim to open five sites across the North of England by 2021 offering high intensity and low intensity interval training and strength workouts. They also offer personal training, nutritional coaching, home workouts and sports injury therapy.
The Seven Movement facility in Stockport also runs a Superhero Fit exercise class, designed to get children aged four to 13 enjoying fitness, movement and healthy eating. These 45 minute classes use key movement skills to improve children’s abilities like running, jumping, crawling and squatting combined. All this is wrapped up in a superhero theme using their favourite superheroes or villains.
Alex Mearns, Loan Officer at Business Finance Solutions which is part of the Manchester Growth Company said: “What Seven Movement have created is a great example of the kind of innovative, game-changing businesses that Start Up Loans has become known for supporting, and they already have a plan in place to replicate their model across the country.
“Dave and his team have both the passion and the expertise to make Seven Movement a huge success and at BFS we are delighted to support a venture with such strong growth potential.”
Mark Hughes, Chief Executive of the Manchester Growth Company said: “The availability of accessible finance for start-up businesses like Seven Movement is crucial if we are to encourage entrepreneurship in Greater Manchester. The fact that this business will be promoting healthy lifestyles for young people and adults makes it all the more worthwhile.”
Dave Perrin, who has worked in the fitness industry for 12 years, said: “What the loan from BFS has enabled us to do is to create a health and fitness brand and environment which promotes healthy living through a balance of exercise, healthy eating and long term behaviour change.
“The growth in budget gyms in the health and fitness market has seen gym memberships rise by over 20% in the last five years but these gyms also have a 50% attrition rate, meaning that half their members will let their membership lapse after 12 months. This is where Seven Movement comes in because we can deliver a long-term and effective personalised service for customers.”
BFS, will see £7.5 million allocated to new start-ups across the North West over the next two years, creating around 1500 new businesses and over 3000 new jobs in the region.
BFS is the finance arm of the Manchester Growth Company and supported by the GM Combined Authorities and Local Enterprise Partnership
Over the years BFS has grown and developed its financial options and offers finance from £500 through to £500k delivered through a range of products including Start Up Loans, Export Loans, Business Loans and Micro Business Loans, with support on raising equity through the Co Angel initiative of investments up to £2m.
