Surrey Scorchers 93-87 Bristol Flyers (20-21, 38-49, 63-64)
(Scorchers – Cook 22, Ogedengbe 18, White 18; Flyers – G. Thomas 25, F. Thomas 17, Thomas-Edwards 17)
In Saturday night’s only BBL Championship game, Surrey Scorchers secured their first win of the league campaign by beating Bristol Flyers 93-87.
Both teams had slipped to defeats the night before, but it didn’t show in a high-scoring encounter. Scorchers trailed by double-figures at half time but a 15-2 surge in the third quarter edged them in front, as former Flyer Lovell Cook hit nine of his 22 points.
Surrey made four three-pointers in a row to take an eight point lead in the fourth, but in a tight finish they saw the game out from the free-throw line with Tayo Ogedengbe and Henry Wilkins holding their nerve.
