White Christmas the musical is being staged at the Liverpool Empire Theatre in November.
It tells the story of two ex-army pals who team up with a singing sister-act to put on a show to save a remote ski lodge in Vermont, which has fallen on hard times. It includes some show-stopping tap routines in addition to musical numbers which are guaranteed to leave you singing well into the festive season.
Society Chairman Meryl Langford said “We are always looking to expand our repertoire and to treat audiences to different shows they may not have seen before. We are delighted to be able to bring White Christmas to audiences across Merseyside this year. It really does promise to be a fantastic show.”
Rehearsals are now under-way with Tony Prince playing Bob Wallace, the role made famous by Bing Crosby in the ‘White Christmas’ movie. Tony has played many parts for BOST, including Sky Masterson in ‘Guys & Dolls’ and Fagin in ‘Oliver!’.
Chris Simmons has been cast as Phil Davis, played by Danny Kaye in the ‘White Christmas’ film. Chris recently played both Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, having also starred in ‘The Full Monty’ as Jerry Lukowski and as Lumiere in Disney’s ‘Beauty & The Beast’.
Playing the roles of the two Haynes Sisters, will be Gina Phillips and Linzi Stefanov. Gina, playing Betty Haynes, has also performed as Hope Harcourt in ‘Anything Goes’, and Nancy in ‘Oliver!’, while Linzi Stefanov, playing the Younger sister, Judy Haynes, can be recognised from her performances as Polly Baker in ‘Crazy For You,’ and Mary Magdalene in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.

The youngest principal role is being shared by two aspiring stars, Sofia Lawton, eight and Millie Kiss, 11. Both girls also shared the role of the youngest orphan Mollie in BOST’s 2014 sell-out production of ‘Annie’.
BOST’s Director, Elsie Kelly, said: “After a series of rigorous auditions, we have finally chosen our star line up and I am really looking forward to starting work with this cast.
“BOST is lucky to have such a wealth of talent and experience within its existing membership base. Not only are the cast brilliant singers, the dance skills required for this show are equally as demanding.
“I am confident that audiences will be pleased with our choice of show and that they will leave the theatre tapping their toes, following a night of feel good music, spectacular routines and show stopping performances.”
‘White Christmas the musical” runs from 17th to 20th November. Tickets are on sale from the Liverpool Empire Theatre or BOST directly at: http://www.bostmusicals.co.uk/ticket-office/book/?PID=18
