Altrincham’s natural children’s day nursery Back to the Garden Childcare is taking to the airwaves, partnering with Rod Maxwell’s Late Late Lunch show on RadioAlty.
Celebrating five years as the local radio station for Altrincham, RadioAlty is a volunteer digital organisation born during the first Covid lockdown that is committed to celebrating Altrincham’s vibrant local community, highlighting important issues and showcasing the many talented unsung artists and performers who live locally.
With a large and growing local listenership, the station was the perfect partner for Back to the Garden; the nursery will link with Rod’s show three times every week with the objective of delivering clear and sensible childcare advice for parents and carers across Altrincham with a healthy side dose of humour and family fun.
A local dad of three grown up children, Rod is hugely excited by the partnership. He commented: “I’m delighted to have Back to the Garden on board as the new partner for my show. Collaborating together we have developed an exciting calendar of activity that we hope the people of Altrincham and beyond will love.
“We’re covering a range of important issues from sleeping, toilet training, weaning and dealing with picky eaters to school readiness and behaviour management though monthly interviews and also more in-depth podcasts plus a weekly ‘looking forward to the weekend’ slot that will highlight things to go out and see or do at home such as gardening, cooking, messy play and crafts – so I might learn a few things myself after all these years as a parent!
“Having spent time in the nursery developing the plan, I can confidently say that the Back to the Garden team has so much knowledge to impart and I’m looking forward to working closely with them and the children, it’s going to be so much fun.”
Nursery director Ann-Marie Ellison added: “We’re really excited about partnering with RadioAlty and looking forward to delivering some clear advice and tips for looking after pre-school children. The children are going to be hugely involved in everything that we do and are incredibly excited. Rod has been in to visit us a number of times now and they are having great fun experimenting with the microphone and hearing their voices back!!”
