Formed in 2019, Otis Pavlovic and Royel Maddell have quickly become one of the most talked-about new acts on the international stage. Their breakout debut album PRATTS & PAIN earned worldwide critical acclaim and racked up more than half a billion streams.
Their meteoric rise was propelled by a phenomenal cover of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder On The Dancefloor last year, topping the US Alternative Airplay Chart, reaching Number 2 on Australia’s official singles chart and earning gold certification.
The momentum didn’t stop there – their soul-stirring cover of The Cranberries’ Linger took the internet by storm, topping global viral charts and amassing more than a billion TikTok views, 20 million YouTube plays and 100 million streams.
Alongside their viral hits, fans in Halifax can also expect a setlist packed with the duo’s beloved originals, including Sofa King, Oysters In My Pocket, Kool Aid, Car, Foam and Moody – the tracks that built their devoted fanbase and fuelled sold-out headline tours across the UK, Australia, Europe and America.
Royel Otis have firmly established themselves as one of the most exciting indie acts of the moment, and Halifax gets its turn next summer for what promises to be an unforgettable night.
Royel Otis join the likes of Bastille, CMAT, Amy Macdonald, Holly Johnson, Scissor Sisters, McFLY, Deacon Blue, Shed Seven, Ethel Cain and Embrace among the headliners announced for TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall 2026 – with more announcements to come.
Nicky Chance-Thompson MBE DL, CEO of The Piece Hall Charitable Trust, said: “What a brilliant time to welcome a band who are just hitting their peak.
“Known for bringing the fun, this will be a great gig, packed full of their own material and hopefully some of their amazing interpretations of other people’s tracks that have seen them explode on social media.
“Hailing from down under I can’t wait to see how much they’ll love the unique beauty of our stunning heritage site, which makes shows like this even more magical.”
