- Fully adapted Subaru BRZ to compete in the 12-hour endurance race at Anglesey Circuit
- Subaru BRZ raced using hand-controlled throttle and brake, and piloted by drivers with lower limb disabilities
- Mission Motorsport’s annual Race of Remembrance takes place November 8 & 9
30th October 2025 – Mission Motorsport will hold the eleventh annual Race of Remembrance at Anglesey circuit on the weekend of November 8 & 9.
As one of the key fundraising pillars of the year, the Mission Motorsport Race of Remembrance brings together teams from across the UK and beyond to raise money for the charity, celebrate the armed forces community, and show support during the 12h endurance event.
Unique to the Race of Remembrance, all activities and track action are paused at 10:45, allowing all competitors, pit crews, marshals, staff, and supporters to come together as one in a special pitlane service of remembrance.
Subaru UK & Ireland continues its support for Mission Motorsport and the charity’s specifically modified Subaru BRZ. This particular race car has been fully adapted to enable individuals with lower limb disabilities to race against fellow competitors on an even basis, utilising the car’s hand-controlled throttle and braking system. For the 2025 Race of Remembrance, the Subaru BRZ will be driven by Mike Smith, Dom Pearson and two others, with last year’s lead driver Steve Binns acting as this year’s driver coach.
James Cameron, CEO of Mission Motorsport, said, “Motorsport has no disabled category. You modify the vehicles, through engineering, to allow drivers to compete on a level playing field with able-bodied drivers, and this is amazingly empowering. The Race of Remembrance has grown and is now in its eleventh year, and has become a true highlight on our calendar, bringing our community together on a particularly poignant weekend for us all.
Speaking at the Race of Remembrance launch event, held recently at Thruxton race circuit, Brian Wheeler, PR Manager at Subaru UK & Ireland, commented, “We are proud to continue our support for Mission Motorsport and the important work the charity undertakes. The modified Subaru BRZ is not only an excellently balanced, stable race car, but the hand controls allow the team of drivers to compete in this highly competitive field and enjoy their racing.”
Mission Motorsport has also launched a powerful community-led campaign called ‘YourRoR’, inviting motorsport fans, beneficiaries & supporters of Mission Motorsport to mark Race of Remembrance with personal challenges that raise vital funds – helping Mission Motorsport support the armed forces community.
More than a fundraising initiative, YourRoR is a heartfelt invitation to unite as a community and honour the true spirit of Race of Remembrance. Those wishing to support the cause can do so #YourRoR – JustGiving
