Burnley Council is hoping residents have a “tree-mendous” start to 2017 by putting their real Christmas trees out for collection and recycling.
Real trees will be collected by the council on Monday 16th January – just leave them out where you normally leave your recycling containers by 6.30am and the council’s contractors will come along and take your tree away. No need to take it to the household waste centre, getting pine needles all over your car.
The trees will be recycled and used as compost.
Perhaps you might want to make recycling more one of your New Year’s resolutions – this would be a good start.
