Towneley bonfire and fireworks display was a roaring success as thousands of people turned up to celebrate on 5th November.
The event was bigger and better than ever before attracting more than 6000 people from Burnley and elsewhere across East Lancashire.
The crowds were entertained by a dazzling fireworks display and a 20-feet tall bonfire, which was lit by the Mayor of Burnley, Councillor Jeff Sumner.
A funfair and seasonal refreshments were also on offer at Saturday’s event, organised by Burnley Council in support with support from Urbaser, 2BR, Burnley Leisure and Balmers.
Councillor Bea Foster, Burnley Council’s executive member for leisure and culture said: “The 2016 Towneley bonfire event was a huge success and the fireworks were spectacular as always.
“I’d like to thank everyone who came and all those working on the event for making it our best one yet.”
