The Regenda Group, which has already transformed some of the city’s finest historic buildings into stylish homes, has moved into 24,500 sq ft of newly refurbished office space.

The relocation from Bolton has already created at least 50 jobs, with more recruitment to follow over the next six months, heralding a new beginning for the business.

Group Chief Executive, Michael Birkett, said: “The move presented significant challenges which I’m delighted to say staff took in their stride. This is the beginning of an exciting and ambitious chapter in our history which is full of new opportunities. We are now perfectly placed to begin investing in key property developments across Liverpool city centre, building on our reputation as a pioneering housing and regeneration business.”

Staff are now working from two previously empty office blocks owned by Regenda which have been refurbished, the landmark Commutation Plaza overlooking St George’s Hall and the Group’s new head office at The Foundry on Henry Street.

With relocation complete, the Group can push ahead with plans to invest £50million over the next three years on city centre residential property development. Through its subsidiary company, Redwing Living, the emphasis will be on contemporary and innovative city centre living in private rented, shared ownership properties and homes for outright sale.

Locally the Group already has a track record of sensitive regeneration, including Merchant Terrace, the Arts Village in the Ropewalks conservation area and Preston Point, where treasured buildings have been retained as studios, apartments, workshops and offices.

The move to Liverpool has helped Regenda to decentralise and will save the business around £500,000 a year.

Relocation coincides with some internal restructuring to improve the way services are delivered locally to residents living in around 13,000 properties in more than 30 local authority areas across the North West.

The Group, which also has offices in St Helens, Oldham, Macclesfield and Fleetwood, employs around 500 staff, has assets of more than £489 million and a turnover of more than £60 million. Over the past three years it has built around 500 new properties and supported 140 people back into employment or training.
