Bear Grylls and Oxygen Freejumping, the UK’s largest trampoline park provider, have today announced a partnership that will see the pair set about creating an innovative indoor fitness programme, Bear Grylls Fitness, never seen before across the UK.
Renowned for his spirit of endeavour, fitness and adventure, Bear Grylls will be working directly with Oxygen to create a programme of high intensity exercises in both studios and indoor assault courses to provide the ultimate functional training opportunity for obstacle course race and fitness enthusiasts.
Oxygen Freejumping sites will feature Bear Grylls Fitness, starting at Oxygen’s Manchester site in Trafford Park and coming to the Wigan park in early 2017. The programme will feature a multi-storey assault course to challenge users to practice the moves and techniques Bear uses in the wild. Over the next two years the partnership will be seen throughout Oxygen’s growing chain, set to be 30 parks by the end of the Summer 2018.
The past five years has seen a significant increase in interest in Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) as an alternative to traditional events and fitness activities. Recent growth has seen more and more casual users wanting to have a go, and moving forward they will all have the chance to test their skills at Oxygen Freejumping.
Bear Grylls explains the aim of the partnership as: “A totally unique way of training, which is both functional and very dynamic. This is the way that I build fitness for all my adventures, and Oxygen Freejumping provides the perfect venue and culture to train hard in this style.”
Oxygen Freejumping CEO, David Stalker, stated: “We are delighted with this partnership as we both share a simple mission to empower people of all ages to get moving in a different way that anyone can try.
“Our sites are more than just trampolining as they are centres for Freerunning, fitness programmes, aspiring gymnasts and of course huge numbers of people just looking to have fun at events, dodgeball leagues and Freejumping sessions. This obstacle course concept is the logical next step and I can’t wait for all of our Freejumpers to get fit and try to overcome the same type of obstacles that Bear encounters in the wild.
“We will now set about building something that will truly surprise everyone, first at our Trafford site and then across our growing estate.”
Oxygen Freejumping is the UK’s largest trampoline park chain with 5 trading parks and a further 4 under construction. The announcement comes shortly after the anniversary of its first park, in West Acton, which has seen in excess of 360,000 participants in the first year.
Oxygen has also recently launched a new timetable and pricing structure, making it the most competitive trampoline park in the UK, to ensure the joy of Freejumping isn’t out of reach for anyone.
Never before seen products are soon to be launched, all aimed at ensuring that no matter age and ability, anyone can become a freejumper. New products include:
Student Night – every Thursday Oxygen will open its doors for students, as the site transforms into a bouncing nightclub
Autism friendly – every Sunday afternoon sessions are open for families and groups with individuals with a range of learning difficulties and special needs
This, along with existing much loved products such as the School of Trampolining and Freerunning Academy, cements Oxygen’s position as the market leading trampoline park operator with the widest selection of products available.
