Following the success of the ‘Typical Weekend’ exercise in July, the Trafford Partnership, led by Trafford Council, is set to embark on the next stage of its exciting campaign to improve the way in which services work together to serve the public.
After in-depth and comprehensive analysis of a range of data collected over the ‘Typical Weekend’, which was a four day live observation of how services work now, the upcoming ‘One Trafford Response’ will see staff from different agencies working in a central ‘hub’ on a range of real cases as they come in for action and support, involving: sharing information, supporting and challenging working practices, testing co-location of services, understanding how people access services day and night, and working collaboratively to help people in crisis.
Cllr Sean Anstee, Leader of Trafford Council, said: “We know that service provision is not always perfect and can cause frustration for our residents, particularly those who need these services urgently out of hours. We see and recognise the need to constantly look at and find ways to improve services which is why the One Trafford Response is so important.
“It gives organisations in Trafford the chance to find new ways of delivering services. I am grateful to all of our partners who are taking part in this innovative exercise and to all of our residents who are going to let us work with them in a joined up way.”
Across the weekend, the Trafford Partnership will be introducing new ways of working, with an array of multi-agency teams coming together from across the borough. In possibly the first exercise of its kind of this scale, the One Trafford Response will allow for an assessment of our new processes.
Testing these new processes will allow us to investigate how public services across Trafford respond out of hours, how we manage demand and how duplication or temporary solutions can be avoided, it focusses on these key elements.
- Referrals will be made into a bespoke ‘hub’ over the weekend The hub will comprise of a multi-agency Assessment and Triage team who will be responsible for co-ordinating information across partners to provide a plan for a referred case.
- This information and plan will be passed on to a dedicated Intervention Team, made up of resources from across the Trafford Partnership who will support in the follow up of the plan.
The One Trafford Response exercise will run from Thursday 22nd Sept 4.30pm until Monday 26th Sept 5.00 pm, with the hub being open until 11pm Friday and Saturday and until 5pm on Sunday.
