Curious to find out more about Trafford’s Innovation and Intelligence Lab, the borough, its partners, health, crime, education statistics or details about your local area?
Maybe you are keen to be able to contribute your views on what local information should be available. Whatever the reason, data hungry people within Trafford are being invited to pop along to one of Trafford Council’s innovative community pop-up labs.
With the first event due to take place at Coppice Library this Thursday, 4 August between 9am and 4.30pm, if data is your thing, you don’t have long to wait.
Keen to bring data and technology into the community, this exciting, experimental way of sharing information, could be the start of a new radical approach, ideal given the huge appetite there is out there for data knowledge.
Smartphone users with a love for anything techy, will be able to access the information with just a scan of their phone across pop up banners, while for the more conventional among us there will be real people to speak to!
Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Transformation and Resources, Cllr Laura Evans, said: “The Council has for some time championed openness and transparency, making as much information as possible available for anyone who is interested. This innovative pop-up community data lab concept makes great use of technology and is a fantastic step forward and I am sure is one that will appeal to people of all ages
The fact that people can pop into a local library, chat with Lab staff and gather information about where they live or discuss new information they would like to see made available is great and I urge people to make a data date to get along to Coppice Library.”
