Local regulatory services including Fire Safety Officers, Trading Standards, Environmental Health, Licensing and Health and Safety officers are working together to help promote compliance and support business growth in the region, as part of the ‘Better Business for All’ programme supported by Central Government.

Although regulatory services are there to ensure the protection of citizens, workers and the environment, they also have a key role to play in business support.

Many smaller local businesses appreciate advice and guidance on how to meet their legal obligations, which the regulatory services are in a perfect position to provide.

In order to ensure the local agencies are meeting the needs of local businesses, please take the time to complete the following survey to tell us a little about your interactions with regulators, and any experiences (good or bad):www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/C6KK27J.

Councillor Sheila Bailey, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Communities and Housing, said: “Stockport Council’s regulatory services, such as Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Licensing, have more contact with local businesses than any other local authority services, and play a key role in providing business support. In order to ensure that we provide the best possible service, we are asking local businesses to give us their views by completing this short survey.”
