With several residential developments plus its Head Office all located in Warrington, housebuilder Bellway was keen to support a local cause, with Cheshire Dogs’ Home close to many hearts.

Four members of the Bellway team volunteered for the day at Cheshire Dogs’ Home, including Debbie Fender, the sales advisor at Neptune in Croft, Danielle Roach, the sales advisor at St Oswald’s Place in Winwick, Elaine Cartright, sales advisor at Narrowboat View in Lymm and Katie Wrigley, a quantity surveyor based at the divisional office at Birchwood.

Bellway’s technical secretary, Helen Grayson, adopted a dog from Cheshire Dogs’ Home a few years ago, so was thrilled to arrange the day for Debbie, Danielle, Elaine and Katie, all part of the housebuilder’s volunteering programme.

So beneficial, Elaine will now continue to volunteer for Cheshire Dogs’ Home every Friday. She says: “Through Bellway’s volunteering programme, all staff members are allowed one day off a year to help out at a charity of their choice. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with Cheshire Dogs’ Home, so much so, I have offered to help on a weekly basis.

“The care they provide is incredible and the facilities they offer are superb. In addition to housing dogs until adopted, they have a special care unit and an amazing atrium where individuals can visit and interact with the dogs. I’m delighted to be able to support them further in a more committed role.”

Located on Knutsford Road in Warrington, Cheshire Dogs’ Home is a small charity providing a loving home for stray or unwanted dogs. They ensure all dogs are microchipped and vaccinated and provide the necessary care for sick and injured dogs, nursing them back to health ready for adoption.

Furthermore, the team at Cheshire Dogs’ Home teach about responsible dog ownership in schools and bring trained dogs into the community.

Charlotte Anthon-Wood, Head of Admin at Cheshire Dogs’ Home, adds: “It was lovely spending the day with Debbie, Danielle, Elaine and Katie. Their time was invaluable with all volunteers helping with dog walks, doggie housekeeping, grooming and simply spending time with our dogs.”

Grace Yarlett, Sales Director at Bellway, concludes: “Our volunteering programme is really popular with staff as they get to spend a day supporting a charity that means so much to them. Debbie, Danielle, Elaine and Katie loved their time at Cheshire Dogs’ Home, plus it was nice touch for the sales advisors at our Warrington developments to volunteer at a Warrington-based charity.”
