Mason Advisory and Northumberland County Council claim top spot for ‘Social Value’ Project Award at MCA Awards 2023
Manchester’s Mason Advisory is celebrating a big win at the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Awards 2023 as the team scooped the prestigious Social Value award for its transformative work with Northumberland County Council.
This award-winning project is a testament to Northumberland County Council’s unwavering commitment to creating lasting, positive change in the community, and to the digital expertise delivered by the Mason Advisory team, led by Adam Todd.
The digital and technology consultancy worked with the council to devise a sourcing approach and business case that helped it transform a standard WAN (wide area network) procurement into a major social value project to enable digital connectivity across the region, particularly in rural areas.
Paul Pugh, CEO of Mason Advisory, says: “We’re immensely proud of our work with Northumberland County Council in helping them become one of the best connected rural regions and it’s a real honour to have our work recognised by the MCA. The award is testament to the tireless efforts of our team and our steadfast commitment to delivering tangible, meaningful impact. We are thrilled to receive this prestigious accolade, which reflects our mission to help drive social progress and foster positive change through technology.”
“The MCA Awards are renowned for acknowledging outstanding projects and achievements within the consulting sector, and this award underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering social value and making a meaningful difference.”
Chris Thompson, Director of Information Technology at Northumberland County Council, comments: “I’m so pleased to have won this award with Mason Advisory. It reflects the incredible lasting social improvements we’re achieving together for the residents and businesses of Northumberland.”
The judges reported that the project was “scalable and hugely significant – enabling excluded and vulnerable people to use digital services”, adding that: “the work simply would not have happened without the consultants at the heart of it.”
The biggest event in the consulting industry calendar and now in its 26th year, the awards demonstrate the true value of consulting to both the public and private sector and the positive impact consulting has on society. They are the benchmark for quality within the sector, attracting the very best submissions and celebrating high quality results. For 2023, there were 25 categories of awards for projects and individuals.
The winners were decided by an independent panel of judges and results were announced in a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 9th October, presented by Clare Balding CBE.
