Now new research has found that 1973 ‘The Sting’ and 2001 hit film ‘Oceans Eleven’ are the ultimate gambling films of all time, due in part to their box office success.

The research comes from British Gambler, a UK online gambling aggregator, who ranked iconic gambling films from the last fifty years.

The different films were scored against a number of criteria including their box-office earnings, the number of accolades received and their current IMBD rating.

The company also looked at the various locations each film was set in and how glamorous or gambling related these were, as well as whether the main character was ‘lucky’ in the end or not.

Despite coming fifth overall 2019 ‘Uncut Gems’ took the joint top spot in terms of the most critically acclaimed film with 18 accolades, the same number as ‘The Sting’.
