A Banbury-based care centre has received a donation of £1,000 from Barratt Homes as part of its Community Fund scheme to provide essential support for residents.

Larkrise Care Centre, run by The Orders of St John Care Trust, is dedicated in its mission to offer compassionate, individualised residential care for up to 60 residents in calm, friendly and comfortable surroundings.

The contribution from Barratt Homes will help the charity’s 70 dedicated colleagues to deliver quality care and support for the residents at the home.

Jenny Hayn, Bursar at Larkrise Care Centre, said: “The work we do is extremely important as we help and support our town in the care of the elderly and make sure that they are well looked after and cared for.

“As a charity, donations and any profits are re-invested in the care we provide, whilst benefiting our team of colleagues and improving our buildings which are our residents’ homes.”

As a leading housebuilder in the West Midlands, Barratt Homes’ donation comes as part of its outreach into the local communities close to its developments.

Jenny continued: “Working throughout the pandemic has come with many challenges, but everyone at Larkrise Care Centre and the centralised team at The Orders of St John Care Trust have been amazing and so supportive.”

Adrian Evans, Managing Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “When we heard about the incredible work that Larkrise Care Centre does for its residents and their families, we were inspired by its commitment to helping people and knew we wanted to provide support.

“Our Community Fund scheme allows us to help organisations such as this in the areas in and around our developments and it is vital that we work closely with local people to see how we can best help them.”
