Leisure has surveyed over 1,000 UK residents to reveal the nation’s most interesting eating habits and here’s how Manchester’s habits compare to the rest of the UK. Check out the full study here.
Fish and chips, a Sunday roast, and a full English breakfast are just some traditional British meals that may spring to mind when someone asks you what British cuisine consists of.
However, in a nation of foodies, we all have different taste buds to please – one person’s foodie dream might be another’s foodie nightmare. So how different are our eating habits in the UK? Which meals are our favourites? And how do our cooking habits vary from region to region?
Here are the key findings from Mancunians:
Pizza appears on Manchester’s weekly menus the most, with 50% having it at least once a week. This is followed by fish and chips (44%) and Spaghetti Bolognese and curry (both 42%)
Mancunians spend an average of 46 minutes cooking each day
Mancunians are most likely to eat with their family, with 40% saying they do so and 33% saying they eat with their partner
24% of Mancunians eat alone
Manchester is the 4th most adventurous city in the UK, with 34% having tried more than 12 different cuisines
