A group of 27 Girlguides from 1st Marford Guides and 1st Acton Guides, covering Marford, Gresford, Rossett, Llay, Acton and Garden Village, have been helped to go on a planned trip to London next month thanks to a monetary donation from Bellway.

The housebuilder, who is currently building a range of three and four bedroom homes at its Fern Meadow development on Straight Mile in Llay, was delighted to support the local girls, who are aged between 10 and 14 years.

Bellway’s donation of £300 will contribute towards the cost of the trip, allowing the girls the chance to visit and explore the capital city.

Sarah, a Leader with 1st Marford Guides, says: “Girlguiding is a national charity for girls aged four upwards.  There are approximately 40 girls that meet regularly between the 1st Marford Guides and 1st Acton Guides.  As leaders it is our responsibility to adhere to the Girlguiding ethos which is to organise activities designed to empower the girls, allowing them to have adventures and experiences which would not otherwise be possible.

“Bellway’s kind donation of £300 has certainly helped with the planning of our trip to London in June.  The money will be used towards the cost of excursions in the capital.  It really is a wonderful opportunity for the girls to have fun, learn and see a completely different part of the country.”

Jenny Bell, sales director at Bellway adds: “This trip to London sounds like a fantastic experience for the 1st Marford Guides and 1st Acton Guides so we were thrilled to be able help out in a small way.  Travelling is such an important part of learning and what better way to do it when young than with friends with similar interests.  I hope the girls thoroughly enjoy the Big Smoke!”

Prices at Fern Meadow start from £266,995.  With 90% of the development now sold, there are only a couple of three and four bedroom homes left available.  For further information, or to book an appointment to view the show homes, please contact Bellway on 01978 884912.
